Fleetwood Ophthalmology is a small clinical practice focused on comprehensive ophthalmology.

The OcuTherm eye compress was researched, tested, and improved upon at our office.

The Story Behind OcuTherm®

During his early training as a cornea specialist, our inventor assisted in the treatment of hundreds of patients. He also assisted in a clinical research study helping patients to find relief from ocular discomfort using a standard eye compress.

Once he was in private practice, however, many patients complained to him that commonly-available eyelid compress treatments were awkward or uncomfortable to use, making them a “labor-intensive” burden.

The inventor began self-funded research on an improved eye compress design. He built his first models from scratch, testing the earliest prototypes first on himself and then on staff members. Countless improvements later, the final result is the OcuTherm System.

Our inventor, Seth Biser, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon. Now in full-time private practice, he previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University, first as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and later on the cornea service.
